Cardinal John Dew announced at the end of last year the following clergy appointments for 2017 to take effect from 1 February.

Our Lady Star of the Sea, Marlborough
Fr John Pearce cp, parish priest
Fr Pat McIndoe cp, assistant priest

Catholic Parish of Wellington South
Fr Dennis Nacorda, administrator (May–September)
Fr David Dowling, sabbatical leave, (May–September)
Fr Alan Roberts, Chaplain Home of Compassion, assisting Pastoral Team of Wellington South

Catholic Parish of Otari
Fr Sanele Finau, assistant priest (also to assist with Cathedral Masses)

Te Awakairangi
Fr David Orange, retiring from Hospital Chaplaincy, remains on Pastoral Team at Te Awakairangi
Fr Sebastian Chacko, Samoan Chaplaincy, residing at Te Awakairangi Parish

Our Lady of the Bays Parish, Richmond, Motueka, Takaka

Since these clergy appointments were announced Cardinal John has asked Fr Julian Wagg to accept an appointment to Kaikōura within the Parish of Our Lady Star of the Sea. Fr Julian has accepted this appointment for a one-year term. Fr Julian will work with the two Passionist priests at Blenheim – Fr John Pearce cp, the new Parish Priest, and Fr Pat McIndoe cp.
