Painting, ‘Care for Creation’, by Julius Omeri-Luke.

Christine Paterson of Catholic Women’s League Wellington, visited St Patrick’s College, Wellington, on 9 August to present a 2018 Catholic College Art prize to Julius Omeri-Luke.
Julius was totally surprised by receiving this prize. Julius, who has Samoan ancestry, shared that his grandmother had recently died. He explained that his painting, ‘Care for Creation’, represented all the wisdom and life skills he had received from her as he grew up.
‘The donated prize of $300 fits well with the Archdiocesan Council’s hope to include young people in the Conference’, Christine said.
