Ballerina for a day

Eva Murray of Ss Peter and Paul School in Lower Hutt recently realised every little girl’s dream: to dance with ballet dancers from the Royal New Zealand Ballet,  in a fundraiser for cystic fibrosis earlier in this year.

Dancer Mehdi Angot organised the show, called Breathe, with the help of the team from the TV3 programme The Secret Life of Dancers.

Eva is one of only about 25 children in Wellington with cystic fibrosis which affects the lungs. She has been dancing since she was four because exercise is key to keeping the lungs healthy.

The show, which also featured top singers, had two performances in Te Papa’s Soundings Theatre during the July school holidays.
