Pilgrims urged to focus on God’s love

Witnessing groups fundraising, attending pastoral preparation retreats – are mere examples of how the Holy Spirit is working among us as we lead up to World Youth Day in Sydney in July.

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you…
And you will be my witnesses

The scripture theme for WYD2008 explains much of how the past few months have been for me as Wellington Ambassador. I have been empowered by the Holy Spirit by being a witness to how the Holy Spirit is apparent in our communities and in my diocese here in Wellington.

As hectic as it may get over these next few months, let us use this energy to create excitement in our church—you are young and you are excited about the love of God—shout it from every rooftop! Never lose your focus on the pilgrimage and its purpose of bringing together young people in celebration and thanksgiving. I pray for each and every one of you in your preparations.

Go to www.worldyouthday.org.nz to read more on my blog, and do not hesitate to contact me or other ambassadors on the site.
God Bless. Soifua ona o Iesu Keriso.
