Reefton Young Vinnies have been visiting elderly members of the community, bringing with them personally-made greeting cards and gifts including sweets, flowers and soaps. The children have been warmly welcomed and enjoyed their time sharing life experiences and bringing a little joy to those they met. Six children from the Parish of St Patrick’s in Patea and St Frances de Sales in Waverley received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation on Thursday 27 September, celebrated with them by Fr Marcus Francis. The children and their parents have been working with the ‘Faith Box’ programme, a New Zealand family-based programme, facilitated by our Parish Formation Team. They will be joining another five children to all make First Eucharist in November this year.
