Cullinane College’s 2009 leaders face a demanding task in building on the school’s huge success of last year. The college began 2008 with a high pass rate for NCEA Level 1 that would be difficult to match. Early NZQA results for this year are favourable for a repeat of this high standard of academic achievement.
A number of students have won places on regional and national representative athletics teams.
The new leadership team has a tough act to follow. Two of the college’s senior prefects vied for top honours at the senior prizegiving last year with Joseph O’Hara taking the dux and Jessica Mathas, the Proxime Accessit. Joseph won a scholarship to Victoria University and passed a university level paper with distinction.
The 2009 team is: Hazel Bullock head girl of sport; Sigrid Joblin-Mills head girl; Jacob Benefield head boy; Pai Casserley deputy head girl; Ben Williamson head boy of sport. Absent: deputy head boy Oriwa Paenga-Edwards.
