Sacred Heart Cathedral was packed on Sunday afternoon 21 July when Columban Frs Noel Connelly of Australia and Michael Gormly of New Zealand presented a stone carving of Fr Francis Vernon Douglas to the archdiocese on the 70th anniversary of his death.
Fr Michael Gormly wrote in Wel-Com‘s September, 2012 issue of an extrovert, idealistic, sports-loving man who began his priestly ministry in New Plymouth in 1934.
