The workload for teachers seems to be increasing year by year as the fixing of one social ill after another is laid at the door of the school. I wonder if they are not a handy, captive group on which we can all lay our responsibilities.
I feel that we must remember that the school is just one of the socialising agencies which is responsible for children’s values and behaviour.
Teachers, however, accept whatever is asked of them and continue to make a learning community in which all of the children feel valued, accepted and successful.
I see the love of Christ in the ministry our teachers carry out on our behalf and I thank them all for what they do for our children.
