altKapiti Catholic Child & Youth Ministry ran its annual leadership retreat at the Marist Brothers House in Otaki September 22 – 23.

This year we had 27 participants including young people in Years 11 – 13 at college, twice as many as last year.

The retreat offered the opportunity for current and future leaders to hone leadership skills, build community and recharge spiritual batteries.

To put theory into practice, participants divided into groups to plan upcoming scheduled events in the pastoral area.

These include preparing and running a college-age youth event at one of the local parks, prayer sessions and a thank you afternoon tea for supporters of Kapiti Catholic Child & Youth Ministry.

At an event such as this, we see how truly God has blessed our community.

The retreat was organised and run by Helen O’Sullivan, Joe Green and Debbie Matheson. Many thanks for your hard work and inspiration!
