The Manager of Catholic Schools for the Wellington Archdiocese, Michele Lafferty, was recently presented with the New Zealand Catholic Primary Principals Association award for outstanding service to Catholic Primary Education.
Below are the notes from the nominators:
Michele has been deeply committed to Catholic Education over a significant period of time having worked at the ‘chalk face’ and in the Catholic Education Office.
She has been, and is, tremendously supportive of both principals and schools generally, having been part of celebrations as well as sorting out difficulties.
Her personality and individual style shines in everything she does. She is amusing, sensitive, knowledgeable, supportive and dedicated—a person who has walked alongside many of us, individually and collectively, within our school communities as a means of guidance.
Michele is a leader who leads by example in the true meaning of ‘Catholic’.
