SUMMARY:Love is a Decision (marriage preparation course)
DESCRIPTION:The Commit / Love is a Decision programme is designed to be completed by the couple together in person\, one after the other in Wellington. By doing both of these courses\, couples are involved in a comprehensive programme to prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage. \nThis course is open to couples of any or mixed faith\, not only for Catholics. \nMarried couples present the in-person course and facilitate the Commit Questionnaire with you. \nThe focus of each step of the programme is about discussions between the couple\, spending time without distractions and in a relaxed neutral setting\, prompting useful discussions between you and your partner\, on important topics\, things like your unique differences as individuals\, your family of origin and early learning about relationships\, continuing to build a life together and your shared values\, maintaining healthy communications and ways of managing conflict\, and continuing to grow your already thriving relationship.\nThe Commit Questionnaire simply identifies areas that could use more discussion between you. The in-person course delves into useful topics. The couples facilitating the course will share and discuss insights of the realities\, challenges and joys of marriage in each of the areas. \nWhen you register for the “Love is a Decision” face to face course\, you are automatically registered for the Commit Questionnaire introductory programme. An Archdiocesan Marriage Educator will contact you directly to complete the Commit course before you attend the face to face group course “Love is a Decision”. SUMMARY:Farewell Mass for St Martin de Porres church
DESCRIPTION:St Martin de Porres church is closing\, after more than 65 years of serving Catholics in Lower Hutt. \nA final Mass will be held at 8:30am on Sunday\, 2 November at the church\, located at 6 Park Avenue in the Epuni area of Lower Hutt. It will be celebrated by Archbishop Paul\, and will livestreamed as well. \nThe day before the closure\, on 1 November\, will be one hour of Adoration with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and the Relic of St Martin de Porres. This will take place at 3pm at the church. Parish families are invited to seek the blessings of St Martin de Porres. \nWe hope you can join us in saying farewell. \nCheck out the below video celebrating the church’s 60th jubilee in 2020:

SUMMARY:Concert at the Cathedral
DESCRIPTION:The Cathedral Saturday Vigil Music Group of Sacred Heart Cathedral has been putting together a concert for Sunday 2nd of November at 2.00pm – and you’re invited! \nIt is primarily to honour the group’s leader\, Sr Marie Gore\, and it is also a fundraiser for the Cathedral. The programme is of classical\, operatic\, and contemporary music\, all performed by the Vigil Mass Group and other Wellington musicians. \nAgain\, the concert is Sunday\, 2 November at 2pm at Sacred Heart (40 Hill Street in Wellington). \nTickets are $20 for adults\, $15 concession\, and $40 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children). Tickets can be purchased at the door. \nHope to see you there!
