altPast pupils of Sacred Heart College Lower Hutt are in for a party on memory lane also known as the Horticultural Hall over Labour Weekend as the college marks its first 100 years.

The celebrations start on Friday October 19 at 6.00pm with the opening of a Performing Arts Centre, a valued addition to the college facilities which will hold 650 students.

A wine and cheese evening follows at 6.30 until 10.00 in the Lower Hutt Horticultural Hall.
Saturday’s proceedings start at 9am with an invitation-only presentation by the Governor-General Sir Jerry Mataparae of Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards followed by an open day at the college with school tours and year group photographs.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Class photos will be arranged during this time.
On Saturday evening there will be a centenary three-course dinner from 6.00pm to midnight in the Horticultural Hall, with actor Geraldine Brophy as MC.

Centenary celebrations will finish with a Centenary Eucharist on Sunday morning at 10.45 which Cardinal Tom Williams will preside over. This will be in Ss Peter and Pauls Church, Knights Road.

Registrations have already been received from past pupils in Australia so do not miss this great opportunity to recall those giddy days of youth.
