In his recently completed thesis called ‘A phenomenology of the Eucharist’, Fr Kevin Connors seeks to unveil the kindness of God’s face in the Eucharist and in one another and explores the true meaning of ‘loveableness’.

‘Compared to adults, infants lack the ability to state their identity. But they still have the power to wrap us around their tiny little fingers. Then, as if that’s not enough, Jesus said: ‘the kingdom of God belongs to such as these’ (Mk 10:14). Is this selfishness?”

Fr Kevin calls this childlike power to bring God out of heaven ‘infinite loveableness’. The presentation of his thesis explores loveableness as the basis of biblical revelation and the Eucharist. It shows why and how it is not selfish but unselfish to accept love. It also asks, what happens to our Catholic tradition, in our parishes and our lives when we accept the true meaning of loveableness?

Come and listen to Fr Kevin on Tuesday 20 August, 7pm, at St Anne’s Church, Emmett St, Newtown. All are welcome.
