Called to higher duties? Archbishop John Dew and his pilgrimage companions travelled around the archdiocese during the week of 17 to 24 November in an archdiocesan car which faced the same challenges as every other vehicle on the road.

Students and parishioners of St Mary's Blenheim, part of the Marlborough Pastoral Area – the first pastoral area the pilgrims visited on Monday 18 November. The pilgrims made 30-minute walks with people from each area, symbolic of the journey of faith that we are all on. The walks ended with a short liturgy and blessing and presentation of Fitzgerald awards in each location.

At the memorial to the 51 people who died in the 1968 Wahine disaster on Seatoun beach on Sunday 24 November.

The week-long pilgrimage ended with Mass at Petone on Sunday 24 November, a visit to the Wahine Memorial on Seatoun beach and a closing Mass in Sacred Heart Cathedral in the evening.
