Parish Ministry in Aotearoa New Zealand webinar

In this webinar offered by Te Kupenga – Catholic Theological College, Emily Sit will share a personal reflection on her experience of parish ministry in Aotearoa New Zealand. Drawing from her time as an active parishioner and leadership team member at Our Lady of Fatima, Meadowbank — as well as her work in retreat ministry — Emily explores why we serve, how we can serve more faithfully, and how we ensure our ministry stays aligned with the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Framed around four key themes — discipleship, shared leadership, the gifts of the people, and mission — this session invites us to reflect on what parish ministry looks like in practice, and how it can continue to grow in both purpose and fruitfulness.

Whether you’re a parish staff, clergy, volunteer, or simply passionate about the life of the local Church — this is for you!

Emily Sit has completed Graduate Diploma in Theology and serves as Director of Mission and Evangelisation for the Diocese of Palmerston North. In this newly established role, she is focused on encouraging spiritual renewal and mission-oriented leadership across parishes, schools, and diocesan life. Working alongside clergy, parish teams, and school leaders, she supports faith formation, fosters parish–school collaboration, and seeks to nurture a culture of discipleship rooted in the Gospel.

Emily is passionate about walking with leaders and communities as they rediscover their missionary call and respond to what the Holy Spirit is stirring in Aotearoa New Zealand today.
