Updated Covid restrictions in Parishes

Below are a list of changes that can take place in Parishes starting from the weekend 28/29 May 2022 that have been identified by Cardinal John and the Council of Priests:

The following restrictions remain in place: Communion under one kind and in the hand only, contactless sign of peace, no holy water in fonts, and masks must be worn by priests and ministers distributing communion.

There may be elderly or immuno-compromised people that feel uncomfortable coming to mass if they feel it is unsafe to do so. A reminder that the dispensation to attend Sunday mass is still in place with Covid-19 still circulating in the community.

Cardinal John reminds us of the importance of remaining vigilant; “Thank you for all you have done and are doing… we must continue to remain vigilant about precautions to prevent the spread of the virus… With thanks and every blessing.”
