Called ‘as a pilgrim people to a way of life, rooted in stillness, contemplation and wonder ….’

Eleanor Yates, from the United States, has been painting and creating murals on different aspects of the life of Nano Nagle in Ireland for a number of years.

The Congregational Leadership Team of the Presentation Sisters, based in Ireland got the idea of sponsoring Ella to visit different areas of the world where Presentation Sisters, Associates and Friends of Nano work. Their desire was to make Nano known in a different way during this special year when she was made Venerable.

Ella began her travels in England, then to the Philippines and to New Zealand, spreading the love and story of Nano through art. You will get a wonderful sense of her journey so far by reading her blog.

Here in New Zealand we are grateful for the Spirit-led journey that brought Ella into contact with schools in Eastbourne, Waiwhetu, Green Island, Naenae and Taita during her last visit.

The Presentation Sisters in New Zealand are grateful to the school principals and communities for welcoming Ella to their schools and parishes and to Michele Lafferty who provided Ella with accommodation and a studio during her time with us.
