Housing is a pressing issue for many people in our communities. As we come to local government elections, the Wellington Archdiocese Catholic Housing Forum and the Ecology, Justice and Peace Commission’s Social Equity Committee members surveyed the Hutt, Upper Hutt, Wellington, and Porirua City Councils and the Kāpiti District Council to get an idea of their housing policy and provision, and asked Mayoral candidates in these regions for their views on local responses to housing need.
