On Tuesday 28 May Catholic Schools Day was celebrated throughout New Zealand with many schools joining together for the day. It was an opportunity unite and to recognise not only the contribution Catholic schools make to communities but also their commitment to academic excellence and their unique special character dimension.

Catholic schools seek to encourage their students to achieve in all areas ‒ academic studies, cultural, music or sporting endeavours. Our schools demonstrated we are people of hope who believe in the vital importance of making the world a better place, which resonated with this year’s theme, ‘Extending Christ’s Call: to love, to be, to do. – Kia rangiwhawhatia ta te Karaiti karanga: Kia aroha, kia tuturu, kia mahi’.
