WelCom February 2018: Visiting German musical artists, Almut Seebeck and Felicitas Weyer, known internationally as Trio A Due, will perform a concert at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Wellington, 7.30pm, Friday 2 March.

Trio A Due have delighted audiences around Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Almut’s clear lyric soprano blended with Felicita’s warm, natural mezzo and piano accompaniment, promises an uplifting evening. Their repertoire ranges from tragic and serious and includes Lieder and duets, Italian Arie Antiche, Celtic traditionals, Yiddish and Gypsy songs, and jazz standards arranged by Felicitas.

Dr Almut Seebeck was born in Bremen, Germany, where she studied medicine and voice. As well as her musical artistry, she practices as a specialist doctor in psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy in Wurzburg.

Felicitas Weyer was born in Erlangen, Germany, into a family of musicians. She studied piano, song and musicology and holds lectureships for song and Liedbegleitung at the College of Music in the University of Wurzburg.

Through their music Felicitas and Almut support charity organisations that offer support, information and help in times of crisis. In New Zealand they have chosen to support LIFELINE Aotearoa whose work depends on public donations to fund their helplines.

The Joy of My Life concert is also promoted by the German Embassy in Wellington. Programmes are $30 and $20 (www.trio-a-due.de).
