Formation Day for Ecology, Justice and Peace Commission members

The Archdiocese’s Ecology, Justice and Peace Commission met for a formation day, looking back at the year, and looking ahead to the new year.

Members of the Ecology, Justice and Peace (EJP) Commission and Committees met for a day of formation and planning on Saturday.  Elizabeth Julian opened the day with an engaging overview of the Old Testament, connecting this back to its relevance to Social Justice and how we can respond to issues in today’s world.

Archbishop Paul joined the group in the afternoon as Committee convenors for Integral Ecology, Poverty and Bicultural Relationships reflected on the year and activities. The Commission also reviewed its Mandate which is grounded in the 2017 Synod “Go you are sent” and looked to the future. A number of members are finishing their Term with the Commission and the EJP will be recruiting for people to join in their work of social justice action rooted in Catholic Social Teaching.
