Recently a group of people came together for “Caring Space”, which is an opportunity for people caring full time for a loved one to take some time to reflect on their caring role, facilitated by Veronica Parton. The people who came are caring for spouses, disabled children, aged parents, grandchildren and others with serious illnesses or disabilities, and some are caring for more than one person.
Their positivity and fellowship, and their sense of God being present in their daily reality is humbling. When caring for another person there are so many decisions to be made, often with no obvious right choice amid changing situations.
There will be another Caring Space day in November, which will be advertised widely. For information watch your parish newsletter or contact Chris Walkerdine 04 496 1706 c.walkerdiine@wn.catholic.org.nz
