Catholic Social Services, the Archdiocese’s social outreach agency, are part of a collaboration that provides household goods and pantry packs to help in the settlement of newly arriving refugees. We can do this because of the generosity of our parish communities who, all year, have donated household goods, pantry packs and turned empty houses into homes. This month alone Catholic Social Services have been working with the Anglican Movement to settle 11 families before Christmas, and we have almost exhausted our resources. We know that by mid-January there will be more people arriving and we need your help.
Over the 2 weeks from 01/12 to 14/12. Catholic Social Services helped with:
– A family of 2 from Intake 1
– A family of 7 from Intake 2
– 9 families totalling 32 individuals from Intake 3
11 households for 41 people in 2 weeks. What an effort!
If you are able to make a donation, this will help Catholic Social Services to be able to purchase the remaining items they need for families arriving in 2024. Donations can be made here: https://wn-catholicsocialservices.org.nz/Donate
