In July 2020 representatives from all over the Archdiocese gathered for our Shaping the Mission consultation event. On Friday night, Young Church leaders Isabella McCafferty and Rhegan Tu’akoi spoke to the realities facing both young people and the Church as a whole. Their presentations were dynamic and entirely relevant to our present context. On Saturday we checked in with our progress as a diocese in terms of our engagement with the young church, reflecting on the Synod outcomes from 2017. We also had the chance to critically engage with each other’s miniseries; learning about the different contexts we operate in and offering support and advice.
All in all it was a wonderful opportunity to gather, post-lockdown, and we look forward to seeing what unfolds in the months to come.
