Wellington Catholic Social Services is looking for a creative social worker to join our team in developing a practice model for 2022 and beyond. This is an exciting time to join us.

Cathedral Parish Music Coordinator/Leader

Sacred Heart Metropolitan Cathedral Parish, Wellington, seeks applications for the position of Music Co-ordinator/Leader. This is a part-time, 15-hours-a week, fixed-term contract until December 2023. The successful applicant will be responsible for co-ordinating the music requirements across all parish liturgies, including the establishment of a voluntary choir/singing group to regularly lead the congregation at the Sunday morning service. The position requires flexibility and includes weekend work. Applicants should have musical training to tertiary level or equivalent professional standard, and ideally be familiar with Catholic liturgy.

Hospital Chaplain – Wellington Hospital (Permanent, Part-Time – 20 hours a week).

We seek a qualified person to work as a member of the Wellington Hospital Chaplaincy Team. 

The Catholic Chaplaincy provides for the pastoral, spiritual, ethical and religious needs of patients and staff at Wellington Hospital.

The successful candidate will come from a committed Catholic ministry background, demonstrate the maturity and resilience required to be a Chaplain. You will have undertaken ongoing formation and had at least two years of pastoral ministry. You will need a demonstrated aptitude for working in mental health. A commitment to ongoing CPD to become a registered healthcare chaplain with NZHCA is required.
