WelCom March 2020:
The third biennial 2020 Pacific Ocean, Pacific Climate Change Conference, will be hosted in Apia, Samoa, Tuesday 26–Friday 29 May, by the Government of Samoa, the Secreteriat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), the National University of Samoa, and Victoria University of Wellington. It will be at the National University of Samoa, Le Papaigalagala Campus, To’omatagi.
The theme is Blue Pacific, Climate Action for Climate Resilience. It is an opportunity to join the Pacific conversation on how island countries are responding to the challenges of the Paris Agreement, and the impacts of climate change felt by people in the Pacific. The conference will explore the science, the impacts, the solutions, and the enablers. Speakers include Geography & Earth Sciences Professor James Renwick, marine conservationist Jacqueline Evans, Reserve Bank governor Adrian Orr, Marshallese poet and speaker Kathy Jetnil-Kijiner, and many more.
