It was a unique experience for St Patrick’s Parish, Napier, to have a married couple be received into the church at Easter.
Adam and Leanne Horvath received the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at the Vigil Mass on Easter Saturday evening.
During the Mass, celebrated by Fr Paul Kerridge, they renewed their marriage vows and together lit their marriage candle with their baptismal candles to celebrate the sacrament of Matrimony.
The parish celebrated the occasion with a special cake and supper after Mass.
