Palmerston North
1 February 2013
Three people from the Diocese of Palmerston North were awarded diplomas at the 2012 Catholic Institute graduation in Wellington.
Cathy Wells, involved in the RCIA programme in St Joseph’s Parish New Plymouth, achieved a Diploma in Theology.
Lorraine Gordon, a parishioner at St Philomena’s Parish in New Plymouth and the review and development adviser for the Diocesan Education Office, achieved a Diploma of Religious Studies.
Michael Burke, who is also involved in the RCIA programme in St Joseph’s New Plymouth, achieved a Diploma in Religious Studies (Pastoral Ministry). Michael was unable to attend the ceremony.
All three students showed perseverance in pursuing their studies over a number of years despite the distances required to travel. See our feature on the first graduands of The Catholic Institute.
