WelCom October 2017:

Brian Tindall

The combining of four parishes into the Catholic Parish of Wellington South – soon to be Suzanne Aubert Parish – has provided an opportunity to form a new Catholic Scout group for the parish and community.

Scouting itself has dramatically changed over the years. Today all boys, girls and young adults are welcome to join Scouting’s five sections.

We require adult leaders from a minimum age of 18 years, for our proposed new Suzanne Aubert Scout Group, for each section:

  • Kea Club – 6 to 8 years old
  • Cub Pack – 8 to 11 years old
  • Scout Troup – 11 to 14 years old
  • Venturers – 14 to 18 years old
  • Rovers – 18 to 26 years old
  • Leaders – 18 to 80 years old

All Scouting members will be encouraged to learn about the work of our spiritual patron, Mother Suzanne Aubert. Age-related activities will include visits to the original Buckle Street Crèche, the Home of Compassion at Island Bay, the Tory St Soup Kitchen, Jerusalem on the Whanganui River, and the Suzanne Aubert walk through Wellington.

Over the weekend of 30 September–1 October, which celebrates Suzanne Aubert Day, our organising group will be presenting information to parishes. We look forward to talking with you.
