WelCom November 2018:

Parishioners at St Teresa’s Church in Karori, celebrated the feast of their patron saint, St Therese of Lisieux on 7 October. Mass was a con-celebrated by Fr Sanele Finau and Filipino chaplain Fr Marlon Tebelin. The Barangay Sta. Teresa Servant Team – the Filipino Chaplaincy arm for suburbs of Karori, Wilton and Northland – led the celebration.

St Therese of Lisieux’s image was processed after Mass to the church hall. Barangay Sta. Teresa Servant Team had prepared a sumptuous lunch, enhanced by ‘plates’ brought by parishioners to all enjoy the festivity. The Filipino community, joined by the Tongan youth, entertained everyone with their talents. There were games and raffles with prizes donated by businesses in Karori and other Filipinos.

All came to a halt at 3pm for the rosary with rosaries and rosary-prayer booklets donated by the Catholic Women’s League, the Nunciature and individuals. The Holy Rosary was prayed as a memorial of the Feast of our Lady of the Rosary.
