The building, which has been under renovation since 2008 now enjoys modern kitchen facilities and lounge, library and prayer room as well as a new look courtyard creating a wonderful indoor/outdoor flow.

A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone involved in the renovations for all your hard work over the past 10 years. There are high hopes that the courtyard will be frequently used; it has already played host to a Christmas party and will help facilitate the Kohanga anniversary Mass and BBQ on Feb 7 (Mass starts at 2pm BBQ after). Come and join in the celebration.

Feb10Kohanga038.jpg The tertiary chaplaincy team includes Josephine Eynon, Dan Siave, Sr Clare O’Connor and Travina Oh (pictured above). Tertiary chaplaincy is about sharing the love of Jesus in a hospitable way. There is a desire to develop spirituality and walk alongside people in their faith journey.

Kohanga provides friendship and hospitality with a comfy and relaxed-style lounge where people can feel at home (as shown in the party pictured right after the spring-clean). You are welcome to come in and use the phone, or grab a coffee, tea or hot chocolate. If you’re around on Mondays you could even join us for our famous FREE lunch – there really is such a thing!

Kohanga is a great place to meet new people and connect with old friends. If you are ever nearby drop in and say hi.
