Archbishop John Dew
3 December 2011

After 18 months of consultation with people in the archdiocese involved in youth and young adult ministry a review has signalled a major shift in the way it will engage with the young church in the archdiocese in the future.

This new vision means that all present positions in both the Youth and Young Adult Office and the Tertiary Chaplaincy Team will be disestablished. Two current ministries will be combined into one under the Office for Catholic Ministry with Young People.

Applications for positions within the new team are available on the archdiocesan website or from l.mcarthur@wn.catholic.org.nz

The new vision is exciting, but it is important to note that the change is no reflection on those who currently minister for the archdiocese.

I want to take this opportunity to thank both my teams for their wonderful service to our youth over so many years. I thank them for their passion for church and community and the young whose faith lives they have helped strengthen and enliven through their journeying with them. I wish them every blessing for the future.

Yours sincerely in the Lord
John A Dew
Archbishop of Wellington
