It was a beautiful day of joy on Saturday, 1 November at St Joseph’s Church in Wellington’s Mount Victoria. The reason: a public celebration for El Señor de los Milagros – Jesus Christ, the Lord of Miracles!
In addition to Mass, the Embassy of Peru hosted a culture fair. Guests enjoyed delicious Peruvian dishes and appreciated colourful and beautiful dances of Peru, music, and more.
There was also the unveiling of a picture/icon of the Lord of Miracles (again, that’s Jesus).
The event was held at St Joseph’s because it’s where a monthly Mass has been held in Spanish – a tradition that’s continued for years. The image was placed in the foyer to make it accessible for a devotional visit.
