The Catholic Foundation wishes to congratulate the winners of scholarships for this year’s tertiary studies and wish them all well in their chosen courses.
The awards were presented at college prizegiving ceremonies at the end of 2012.

Georgina Blane of Sacred Heart College Lower Hutt whose life-long interest in the mechanics of motor vehicles has led her to study for a Bachelor of Engineering at Canterbury University.
Tony Su of St Bernard’s College was awarded the Sisters of Compassion-sponsored scholarship. With a strong interest in design and painting, he will study fine arts at Canterbury University.
Anna Bergin of St Mary’s College. A fascination with how and why things work and a drive to challenge injustices in society spurs Anna to study science and law at Otago University.
Aaron Conlon of St Patrick’s College, Silverstream will study for a Bachelor of Health Science at Whitireia Polytechnic. He hopes to become a paramedic initially and, eventually, a doctor.
Maen Michael Terawasi of Bishop Viard College has chosen to study law at Victoria University because of a dedication to help the vulnerable and voiceless.
Caira Uy of St Catherine’s College is off to Otago University to study health science in pursuit of a career in medicine or dentistry.
Ben Ruback of Chanel College in Masterton will study law and commerce at Victoria University, majoring in marketing and management.
Refugee scholarshipsChristine Philipo of Bishop Viard College will study health science at Otago University in the hope of being accepted to medical school.
Sian Mung Pau of St Bernard’s College will attend Weltec in Petone to do first year ESOL followed by a mechanics course.
