Parishioners from the Heretaunga Pastoral Area’s four parishes farewelled Bishop Peter Cullinane over lunch on Sunday August 12 in St Joseph’s School hall.
John Blake of Our Lady of Lourdes Havelock North thanked Bishop Peter for guiding the new Diocese of Palmerston North (formed in 1980) to maturity as its first bishop.
He then presented Bishop Peter with a copy of the overall winner in this year’s NZ Post Book of the Year, New Zealand’s Native Trees by John Dawson and Rob Lucas.
