For the first time a girl has been accepted among the Samoan altar servers at St Anne’s, Newtown.
On Sunday March 27 Faythe Moananu became the first girl to serve with other Samoan altar servers at the 9.30am parish Mass.
Le’u Seumanutafa Ulu was also to join the altar servers but, on the day, became the first girl to proclaim the word.
Since then, two more girls have expressed a wish to be altar servers.
