Pupils and teachers at St Mary’s Carterton wore wacky hairdo’s or hats last month to raise money to help a family in the community whose house was burnt out. Many of the children were away with the flu on August 6 but those who were well enough were asked to bring a pantry item to school in exchange for wearing a wacky hairdo or hat.
