Next year is shaping to be an exciting year in Archdiocesan Youth and Young Adult Ministry.
The pastoral area internship programme PillarsofFire will be happening at a church near you and members of the new Young Church Ministries team will be starting in January.
PillarsofFire is a faith formation programme being run in pastoral areas, or in a wider group if numbers require. The interns will have the opportunity to engage on a number of faith-related issues including:
- Getting a handle on God
- Catholics and The Bible
- Jesus
- God in God’s Creation
- Eucharist and Liturgy
- Gospel leadership
The programme will also look at practical leadership skills in communication, conflict management, group facilitation and evaluation processes.
If you are interested in being part of PillarsofFire and looking at how the Catholic faith works in today’s world, then don’t delay.
There is still time to apply to be part of PillarsofFire for 2013. Applications close on January 15, 2013.
For more details, talk to your parish priest or lay pastoral leader, see the archdiocesan website (www.wn.catholic.org.nz) or contact Dan Siave (04 496 5181).
Don’t miss the February issue of Wel-Com for a chance to meet the team.
