The sun shone, the people rolled in and there was something for everyone at the Kapiti WYD garage sale. The sausages were superb, the cakes simply delicious, the deals were spectacular and the pilgrims were very happy to have their fundraising efforts boosted by $2500.
It was a great team effort and everyone went home with some new treasures and a cake, plus their car cleaned, face painted or with a sizzled sausage.
There were smiles all round as we had a ball enjoying the joys and hassles of a Kiwi garage sale.
The techno boys had all the electronic gear up and going which made for fast sales and the clothes, books, toys, beds, bikes, sofas, etc were well arranged. A couple of experts worked the antique department and buyers and sellers had fun negatiating sales and keeping everyone happy.
Congratulations to raffle winners, the parishioners who donated their stuff and the St Vincent de Paul society who stored and encouraged us along the way including parents who were up early on Saturday morning. Well done team!
